The staff at Price-Harris wishes to thank parents and volunteers for making this year great! We wish the 4 retiring P-H people the best for next year: Diane Seals, principal; Kathy Young, secretary; Donna Schroer, ESOL teacher; and Joy Jones, Interrelated para. We will miss them! Price-Harris is school with a rich blend of cultural and ethnic diversity. Price-Harris emphasizes communications skills by integrating it into every curriculum area including technology, math and the arts.

Communication Theme:  The communication curriculum is structured to allow kindergarten students to explore the world of communications, and each subsequent grade to explore a different medium.

K Exploration Exploring a variety of media with a hands-on approach to learning about communications.
1 Television Learning about the television medium while writing, editing and producing shows.
2 Books Learning about the many facets of print media/books while authoring student books.
3 Newspaper Exploring the many aspects of the newspaper business while publishing the school newspaper, The Connection.
4 Radio Delving into radio communication
5 Computer Delving into the ways computer technology has facilitated communication, as well as, serving as "web master" for the Price-Harris web page and the team's "business" enterprises.

The Price-Harris Site Council, staff and business partners have worked together to design communication activities that are based on USD259 Curriculum Standards and integrated with the arts.  The activities are filled with rich opportunities to explore a variety of media and to utilize work force skills.

Price Harris partners with CARES, Inc! CARES, Canine Assistance Rehabilitation Education Services, is a non-profit independent living center which specializes in canine assistance. Our students will take on the community communications service project of developing a promotional video tape and a website for CARES!!

Site Council:  Price Harris Site Council is active and involved in our school.  You are welcome to attend our monthly Site Council Meetings.  Meetings are listed on our calendar page.

Parent Teacher's Association:  Our PTA is focused on promoting our school and providing enriching activities for our students.  They sponsor several major events at our school ranging from Spell-A-Thon, Harvest Festival, fund raisers and snacks for staff.  If you would like to get involved, please contact our school.  Our PTA Presidents are Christine Ruhl, 686-2930 and Lorena Kite, 683-7668.
